Age and freshman rules are the same. At the time weight limits were also the same.

In 2009 tvyfl teams scrimmaged cen-cal teams and did very well
______________________

To be honest, the lower level Peewee TVYFL teams were dominated by the Cen-Cal teams. While outside of Buhach's JV team which ended up 13-0 in 2009 and dominated every TVYFL team it scrimmaged) the JV teams were competitive. The Varsity squads were neck and neck.

As far as Hilmar goes, They headed back to TVYFL looking for greener pastures and competitively they may or may not have found it. I think TVYFL is a better fit for them though, as they play teams that the kids eventually play in high school.

and about the former Cen-Cal kids that went to TVYFL and struggled, that has nothing to do with anything.

From what I have seen and experienced, the best Cen-Cal programs are heads and shoulders above many teams in the area. TVYFL has a couple very good programs (Central, Escalon, Rams etc) as well and should be respected as such.

Thunderville:

Your right and I agree with you. There are a few posts on this board that seem to "assume" that the ONLY quality compitition is in the cen cal. My only point was that the TVYFL does have a more competitive group of programs that could compete in the cen cal and should be respected as such.

Don't mind if i jump in here? just catchin up with this forum. The MLYAC is just fine.the only team that went down the hill (some ten years ago.) was from Lodi, they where expeled with over age kids...Last years High school final (Calaveras) most if not all of the players where out of the MLYAC.that team was the MLYAC Varsity and JV super bowl Champs. Last years JR. Redskins where super champs and JV too...with a new field (turf) at Toyon Jr. high,Valley Springs.(for practice and high school for the games.) the area teams can't get but stronger. In the past most teams lack speed, but that is also changing....Most people know,It's better to move up than to down.....link....http://freeteams.net/CalaverasFootball/page.html?page=1391 check it out.good site.
